4090 on 850w = BOOM
Hi,

I have some several year old Corsair dominator platinum that is not on any of the QVL for this board and it reboots 3-4 times a day whilst idle.

I've changed PSU and operating system and so far the only thing that makes it totally stable is dialling down the speed of the D.O.C.P to 3000mhz.

I've decided to buy a new 32gb kit consisting of either 4x8 or 2x16 and would like it to give the very best it possibly can for Ryzen as I do usually game a 4k/120 and would like to guarantee most of the performance of 5900x/3090 without too much diminishing returns.

Nothing RGB with 3600mhz and CL16 seems to be on the QVL though honestly it's all older plain coloured TridentZ and Teamgroup.

Anyone have a known working decent latency rgb kit for this board? My old ram can fund my new ram to about £200ish and I can chuck in a bit more cash.

I just want something highly specced on DOCP I can just put in set and forget, no tuning.

Considering 32GB G.Skill Trident Z NEO RGB DDR4 3800MHz PC4-30400 CL16 Dual Kit (2x 16GB)

Pretty ultimate for getting those last few frames but not convinced it's going to be stable. Anyone done that on this board or other Strix B550 boards?

At that resolution you'll be GPU bottlenecked and super expensive memories don't make sense.
(or at least until CPU itself has become dated)

And 3600MHz with fast latencies is best bet, if you aren't ready to possibly notable manual adjusting hassle.
3600MHz 16-16-16 kits are all Samsung B-die and would work regardless of RGB/QVL or not.

It should be fine - Give it a shot. The CPU's IMC Controller matters more and 5900X has a great one!
