He liked:

Marco Pierre Whites
Gordan Ramseys
Ranulph Fienne
Howard Marks

So anyone else got any other interesting suggestions? Fun, wacky people, I suppose?

As in COnnelly? I hear very mixed reviews about that book and unfortunately, my dad hates him now too. lol

I would imagine Sir David Attenborough:Life On Air would be a good read.One of the best naturalists ever to grace the earth.He should have an interesting tale or two

Paul McGraths is a good read as was Frank Skinners.

Bez from the Happy Mondays is an acquired taste but I enjoyed it a lot.
