So I have the opportunity pickup a set of AWH510H for around £30 (discounts vouchers etc.) I was tempted with the 988s but just won't use them enough to make it worth while.

Thing is I have a small collection of decent headphones, DT990s, AK550 etc. Now these don't have a mic, but I'm thinking they'll be better for gaming with the Atmos app? Thing is I'll lose the mic, I don't socially game much but have been contemplating it.

Thoughts?

Edit - Should have said I'm tempted to use it cross platform with an Xbox too.

I’d stick with your existing cans and just add a decent mic

I was coming to that conclusion, really wanted to use the DT990s as they're SO comfortable and are my favourite set, the curled cable and lack of detachable cable is a right pain though for adding a mic.

Was contemplating getting a cheap clip on boom mic and just trying that, was looking at the clip on one OCUK used to stock but I'm hesitant not knowing how strong the clamp is and again, the curled cable on the 990s would be a pain with it.
