Decking Woes

My friend is setting up some decking in his garden - see image -

It's been advised he boards the frame diagonally with 4m x 88mm boards. how does he work out how many boards will be needed for this?

He will need to take accurate measurements and do a calculation.

work out the total area wanting to be decked and divide by the area of each board, this will give the number of boards required.

Id then add a few more on to be safe if hes doing it himself incase he cuts one wrong or you get a dodgy one

also remeber to factor in any overlap between boards depending on how the are being arranged or joined

Remember to factor in some additional boards for wastage. Using offcuts from other boards to save money is not the way to go if you need to use more than two.
