you need 2 soundcards or one that supports 2 outputs. usually its just cue track then it'll play in headphones, if this doesn't work then you're soundcard doesn't like it. have you got a propper physical mixer as i know a method to use 1 soundcard, mixer, 3.5mm > phono and headphones to do exactly what you want to do.

i would personally use something like vdj or traktor on external mixer mode and pick up a cheap mixer, a lot more hands on than using the keyboard and mouse to control things :)

oops just read you have a mixer, ignore me :p

Is the cue selector set all the way to the right channel? The way I have mine set up is that the Front Speaker soundcard output takes the left deck and the Rear speaker soundcard output takes the right. I then run both into the mixer and mix that way. Just make sure whichever DJ software you are using knows that your are outputting the songs pre-mixer and not post if that makes sense?
