Dell 2407-HC issue + warranty

Hi there, a friend of mine is having an issue with his dell HC, its very hard to describe but basically windows is fine and smooth but anything 3D causes some visual issues, i cant really describe it and i do not know what it looks like, the best word to describe it is its a "refresh flicker" and only happens in 3D mode only, its hard to describe it but when in a 3D game the screen has very faint scan lines horizontally. He's run it through a 8800GT (DVI/VGA) graphics card and the laptop too.

these are the things hes tried:

lots of drivers
O/S reinstall (vista 64)
enabled / disabled V-Sync (hes sure its not that)
tried different dvi / vga leads
moved the monitor elsewhere incase its inteference lol
he knows his way around computers so i dont think hes doing something wrong tbh

has anyone had anything similar witha 2407 HC?

also how does this dell warranty work, if its a new owner do they have to transfer ownership from the original owner? or does it work of the S/N, ive used dell warranty myself in the past with my own purchases but never as a 3rd party.

It sounds like it may be the infamous 2407WFP-HC ghosting issue? Google it and you'll see what I mean.

As for warranty I think you'll need to register it with dell and then call them with the works number that is printed on the original outer box it came in.

They should do a next working day swap over for it.

just call them up on 0870 908 0800 with your Serial Number. what game or 3d app are you using, I'll try to see if it happens on mine.
