My Dell 2407WFP seems to have developed a tinting issue when used with VGA.
I haven't used VGA before now so I don't know how long its been an issue.
What happens is after 30sec-1min the colours become very red/saturated getting progressively worse. If I turn the monitor off and on again then the colour goes back to normal for 30seconds or so then it starts to tint again.

Pretty sure its not the cable or the input source as I tried
-using a different cable
-using the same cable
on my other monitor (U2410) and didn't get any tinting.

I also tried using a different VGA input source (my laptop) and did get the tinting on the 2407WFP.

Also, there are no problems using DVI (from a different source) on the 2407WFP.

Any ideas why the VGA is having these problems but the other ports aren't?

This happened to mine about 2 years ago, except it was blue instead of red. I phoned Dell and used the 3 year standard warranty to get a replacement.. obviously now that's probably not an option, but give them a call anyway. Don't worry about trying to find the "service tag" as it doesn't have one. Just get the monitor's serial off the back.
