The Hard Drive in my D600 spat its dummy and failed so I'm after a new disk. Currently its a 40GB 5400RPM Fuji. I'm looking at going bigger and faster. Will a 3 year old D600 sturggle with a 120+ 7200RPM drive?

Whats the flavour of the month in the 2.5" IDE HDD market?

Cheers,
OP :)

You'll struggle to get much above 100Gb in a 7200rpm IDE drive I think. I had a look about the other week and anything bigger is either SATA or 5400rpm.

In terms of whether it'll take a drive that big I'd say probably but not guaranteed. Have a swift google and see if you can find anyone else who's done it.

I've just checked the dell site which has an upgrade option to an 80GB 5400RPM. So I'm going to take a gamble that a 100/120 will work too. I don't mind an 80 but I'm going to buy the best MB/£ option.
