I'm sure most modern games and older games (with persuasion) would play at 16:9 ratio and pixel mapping probably won't be an issue since this is already 16:9 ratio. For the price it's a good deal indeed.

It is a TN panel but from what I read a quite good one. I read it's an AU Optronics panel if that means anything to anyone.

I wouldn't worry about scaling as i think most gfx cards can do that for you.

The part that i am a bit uncertain with is the resolution being at 1920 X 1080 rather than the normal 1920x1200 with most 24" monitors.
16:9 is total waste for computer use.
Most of the time you need more vertical resolution instead of very low screen.

But maybe they can sell that cut away 1920x120 strip as ultra hyper super wide screen!

I agree, I'll miss the extra 120 vertical pixels that my current 24" has but since I'm getting this for a secondary system instead of a 22" for around the same price I see it as gaining additional horizontal pixels rather than losing vertical pixels.

Do games look good? at that resolution or do things look squashed?

all decent games have aspect ratio correction, the few that don't will look stretched on 16:9 or 16:10

list some games if you want and i'll tell you what their like, no games look squashed though. as i say i've been playing on a 1080p hdtv with an nvidia card for a few years now
