Dell U2410. 10-bit or 68.7 billion colours?

I'm confused. Dell claims the U2410 has 12-bit (1.07 billion colours). I work out 12-bit per channel to be 68.7 billion colours, and work out 10-bit to be exactly 1.07 billion colours. Which one is right? :confused:

I wonder if this is the discrepancy between the on-board processing (12 bit) on the monitor and the signal arriving from the gfx card (8 or 10 bit I think?) over DVI

Well considering any GPU only outputs 16,777,216 colours, I'd say it's trivial

Yeah I think it's a 10-bit panel, with 12-bit processing, so just ignore the 12-bit.
