Hi,

I'm currently in the dark ages rocking dual monitors, a HP w2207 & HP w2228. They have served me well but I've managed to sell them both.

I do a fair bit of work on my PC, Website design, Photos & Citrix CAG related. I game every now and then however my Xbox one has shifted my gaming from my PC.

So I'm after another couple of monitors and really keen on the DELL range. I was going to click the button on the U2412M, Keen on the x1200 resolution and the connections (DVI and VGA for connecting other PCs to test/work on e.t.c) however I've been reading reviews for the newer 2414H and the just released U2415. Are they that much better than the U2412M?

I was also toying with getting a U2415 and then a 2007wpf and setting it portrait.

Or should I be looking at other offerings from other brands?

Thanks,
Mark

Or a 34" Ultra Wide monitor would most likely be much better for your kind of use...

the U2414H and U2415 are definitely better screens than the old U2412M. the new models are PWM-free for flicker free performance, light AG coating instead of the old grainy type, better default setup, better overdrive control (no overshoot), better response times, lower lag. The U2414H and U2415 are very similar to one another, just with the different aspect ratios. if you are going to connect your Xbox externally to the screen i would suggest the U2414H 16:9 format screen as the U2415 doesn't have a 16:9 scaling option and so will stretch vertically the 16:9 content from your Xbox which will be a pain

Thanks for the replies guys.

I think I'm sold on two screens like I currently have setup. I'm finding I'm always connecting a laptop/another PC to the secondary monitor and use my main rig.

The only thing which is putting me off the DELL U2414H/U2415 is the lack of DVi/VGA Connections - otherwise it would be a instant purchase.
I was thinking one primary U2414H/U2415 and something else - however I want them to be similar :(

The P2414H is very similar performance wise to the U2414H but has dvi. Although you could always just get a dvi to HDMI cable for the U2414H anyway

Been using the monitor for a few days now, its fantastic. The colours look stunning and the panel is just a pleasure to use.

I'm using a DVI to HDMi cable and have am using the Nvidia RGB Full/limited range toggler (http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?p=83)

I just need another now. I'm so used to two screens, I'll be ordering another next week :)
