Demigod by Gas Powered Games (SupCom)

Not sure what to make of this. Bigger 4v4/5v5 games are best I find.

Currently trying to get to grips with Oak, Generals seem to have a bit more depth to them than the Assassins.

Just started downloading now, was half following the development of this but have seen way too many good reviews of this not to.

-- well, had a few games and this is fudging awesome ... still getting to grips with it a bit and haven't tried all the demigod's to know which one i'll be sticking with but some of the fights that occur are epic. Few problems with the MP tonight it seems so hopefully that will be good to go by the time I get up tomorrow :D

As I mentioned before, please post your Impulse IDs so we can get some MP games going - Andrew Burnes

tbh the Impulse side is a bit if a disappointment. Joined up with a friend last night but even though he was already in game impulse just showed him online. Xfire showed he was in game and it was through xfire that we got together. Apparently (not tested this) - if you message someone through impulse it doesn't pop up in game - the interface has to be enabled so pretty much useless imho :( As far as I can see you can't invite people into a game ala Steam so its debatable what it would currently be used for.

Anyway loving the game and always looking to hook up with others. xfire tag is tals.

Has the game got any real strategic depth... or is it the RTS equivalent of a beat-em-up? i'm really struggling to get some insight into this game, even reviews aren't THAT clear what it's all about.

Anyone care to spare a few minutes and write a bit of an overview of the game and gameplay elements? :)

Impulse id - swerv0

Heh, couldn't work out how to add friends for a while there, the default size of the impulse window cuts off the find a friend search box :)

Goal: Conquer a map by destroying the enemy's base, or destroy other specific objectives to win.
Means: Direct control of a single Demigod. Each earns experience for killing enemies, which they can spend on acquiring new or improved abilities. Gold is earned for killing enemy, Demigods. This can be spent on buying armour or items to give a tactical advantage. Many combinations of items are possible. Four of the Demigods are able to purchase and summon controllable monsters that can heal, attack, or provide defensive bonuses. Assisting every Demigod is non-controllable groups of monsters that spawn at specific intervals from capturable portals. These mobs can be improved or upgraded by spending Gold at your base (do you spend gold selfishly on yourself, or help the team?).

It sounds simple, but there's a huge amount of depth, and maps play differently from one another. There will be a demo in the future, so just wait for that if you're still on the fence.

Pirates to blame for a number of online issues http://forums.demigodthegame.com/346815/ :(

Hmm... I wonder how many have pirated in place of a demo and will buy once they realise they love the game though?

Excellent thanks mate... I may just take a leap of faith and buy it, it's getting a LOT of good feedback from respectable gamers, so can't be bad imo. :)

Really good game once you get it working, I definitely recommend those who haven't bought it yet to buy it :)

Shame about the initial problems, but it is to be expected and the devs are doing a very good job trying to rectify it.

Anyone know what time the update is coming out today?
