DERBI VS APRILIA

Well here's how they both look:

I think the Aprilia looks a lot more purposeful and definately pips the derbi to the post in the looks department.

The Aprilia is quicker than the derbi too, kicking and screaming it's way up to 150kmh, as opposed to the derbi's 140kmh.

The GPR is a very harsh ride, the seat is hard and it transfers the vibrations from the engine straight up your back. The Aprilia has a more upright riding position for general cruising and has a nice comfortable seat which eradicates the vibration problems.

Overall I would go for the RS125 - they're cracking little bikes and provided you keep it oiled and warm it up thoroughly before you ride it, you'll have no trouble with them. (Just remember that they are Italian, so they don't like the rain!)

both very cool, i would go for the aprilia, looks the best out of the two, also get some ear plugs.

i would go with the aprilia though the derbi might be a tad more reliable as the engine is a rebadged Yamaha DT125 motor

Hands down the Aprillia, don't know too much about bikes but it looks loverly! :p
What do these 125's sound like, is there anything to stop them sounding like a wasp in a tin can or will it allways sound like that no matter what exhaust is fitted?

NS

Yeh the rs125 is a great little bike, as for a question above, they sound superb, not like a scrambler! proper roar!

Also like i mentioned b4, consider the Honda NSR, better reliabilty than both of those, sexy as hell and is probably the quickest 125 about, just after the RS, no use tho if you cant ride it, thats why i would go for the NSR!

It's a 125cc two stroke engine, it sounds like a fart in a tin. It will never sound like a "roar" ever, because that's not how two stroke engines are.
However that's not a bad thing, I love the cheeky rasp of a two stroke, the RS125 sounds like this (1 minute 37).

I had one, and i thought it sounded alrite. Obviously its not gonna be like a 600cc but still thought it was good!

Eh? It's the same sort of motor, but more restricted for the road.

They don't roar by any stretch of the imagination, MX bikes sound far better :p
