That's the one to go for! if you can get your doubles in for each sword you'll have it made.

Aye, that's what Kris also mentioned, and getting away using the slash helps.

Looks like there's a good plan going for Thursday's finishing.

Evilmatt, will give you a shout if anything's happening, otherwise, it'll likely be weekly / nightfall / Urzok if you've not done them yet.

Thinking of going again to Crota on thursday at 9 with a mate whose done it and a few form his clan that i've been raiding with before do you want a spot in it?

Wouldnt mind that Atheon CP maybe we could do both if they are up for it?

I do on the warlock. That thing is a raid armour magnet. Arms and legs in the space of maze-deathsingers. Last raid that warlock got all 4 pieces in two runs. The titan on the other hand... just 3 pairs of gloves. Couldnt make it up if you tried!
 
Had a very fast run of the Crota raid yesterday, got all the way through to him without wiping and then killed him in about 5 tries.

A few things probably already mentioned but:

- I call out when I'm on the rock for max DPS (we had 2x Ghorn) and then I jump up. I.e. be at his feet as he kneels.
- Combo I use is RB+RB+RT and one RT smash, and then GTFO. This combo twice per sword downed him in 3 swords.
- I jump and use the sword swipe in the air to get to/off the platform quicker.
- When Crota is mid, be very aggressive on the Swordbearer and try to kill him top mid as fast as possible, otherwise you risk Crota moving.
- IIRC WoL does not boost the sword damage.
- I now have raid legs so that + high Hunter agility + weapon agility boost should make for some super speedy movement!
 
Had a good run on CE last night.

Got the 4th Horseman Shotgun in the first chest + radiant shards, Boots after the bridge and the Hive machine gun after Crota

Unfortunately missed the 2nd chest by a sliver as a thrall hit me mid jump after running most of the way invisible while the rest of the team slotted the shrieker checkpoint kicked in :(. (Will re-run the raid to get it this week).

Beat Crota eventually (due to the Swordbearer d**king about and Crota moving awkwardly) by jumping up and 3 slash R1 R1 R1, crouch go invisible, team batter his shield and he drops as he drops R1 R1 R1 R2 R1 R1 and GTFO. Rinse and repeat.

Interestingly we thought we had found a glitch with Crota summoning the Oversoul. Team member died just as Crota's sheild went down, he stood up but had no shield and I slashed him 9 times before he went orange and back to full shield. Took half his health. We wiped and tried to replicate the glitch but it didnt happen. Would be interesting to see if other people have experienced this?

There is a glitch where if you get Crota's shield down and then the leader quits the game just as he drops to his knees. If you time it right he stays dropped to his knees and without any shield.

We managed to do this once last night. We then spent a dozen or more goes trying to replicate it and failed.
 
We tried got do this a few times last night but it never worked for us.. guess we got the timing wrong.

No-one on our team quit out. Could be another one to try if people have lots of g'horn. Once you have the tactics set though killing Crota is fairly simple. Two Ice Breakers on left and right killing Knights. 4 in the middle, aggro-ing the Swordbearer, kill him and do the tactic I aforementioned. When Ogres come Weapons of Light at the back room in the middle G'horn them down in 3 rockets each. Go back to Crota.

Simples! ;)

Yeah, I wasn't slashing my way out of there so I'll definitely be doing that on Thursday night. I have the extra agility boots now though and I'll kit myself out for extra agility too. I'm confident we'll get him first time next time! :p

Off topic, I really don't understand the decision to have Raidiant materials instead of Ascendant materials (other than to delay people getting to 32). There is honestly zero benefit to doing the VoG now. All weapons max out at 300 and all armour max out at 30. Once you have 3 pieces of new raid gear and an exotic, Ascendant Shards are worthless! Same goes for weapons and energy once you have exotic and new raid weapons.

This happens when Crota starts to summon the oversoul, he is still vulnerable to attack while he's in that animation (if his shield is down), if you time it right, you can start to attack during that animation, then after its completed he'll go back kneeling as normal so you can do your normal attacks and get out.

Just have a team member rocket himself when his shield drops off, and make sure your other guys kill the oversoul.

It's a lot of faffing, but useful if the team is struggling I guess!
 
I am a level 30/31 depending on what armour I feel like using, wouldn't mind doing VOG on hard if someone needs another.

I also need to do final boss on crotas end if someone has that checkpoint.

VoG is now for me to grind shards / energies for 2.0 Legendaries, just so I can be competitive in Nightfall / Weekly / Iron Banner. My Titan is my alt and he needs loads of shards, so for now, VoG still got its use.

My Hunter isn't bothered at level 28/29, he can still own even if he goes in naked :D

Suros dropped for me in VoG hard but it wasn't 2.0, shame really. I'd be go for it again, not done Urzok so would definitely be up for that.

Is this a checkpoint post yesterdays reset though? I'll be up for a VOG run or just general weeklies etc tonight my alt still needs shards to get to 30/31

I've currently got a massive total of 2, still wouldnt mind the fatebringer or Mytho either :)
