Time to finish him off

had a decent group on Thursday night with some lads from America still didnt manage it but we came so close before rage kicked in that we could have spit on him when his shields were down and it could have killed him :( still not managed to kill Crota yet :mad:

every time I attempted him, I spent 2hrs+ with a group trying to get him down, but I still haven't got a Crota kill..! the timing is just crazy hard to co-ordinate, especially with the boss moving around everywhere at the worst of times.

One is me :D, i enjoy vault of glass more, Crota fight got to much focus on timing.

p.s. I will be lvl 31 by Sunday, and I have 331 atk on Suros, Solar Sniper, Solar Heavy + 300 atk Vision of Confluence / Gjallarhorn.

haha beat the bugger had about 8 wipes with a random group of lfg.net and managed it. Picked up the Rocket Launcher looks ok but my Ghorn kicks its ass
 
Me and a mate cheesed our way up to Crota last night. It was our first time in the raid and we spent nearly 4 hours going in circles in the lamps section! Got it down pat now tho. I got a chest piece after the bridge part - it has shed loads of strength which isn't any use to a hunter and some ammo for weapons that rarely get used. I've little raid experience - did VoG twice - do these things tend to drop often? I'm loathe to level it up but would hate to shard it and never see a chest drop again.
 
Definitely a huge problem with pick up groups and this boss. The timing isn't all that hard and neither is the communication required, it's the simple fact that people don't know the mechanics of the fight, don't want to know, and hope to be dragged through.

1 or 2 people snipe the boomer knights, the rest crack on with getting the sword & crotas shields down. You're all in close enough proximity to take the chalice when/if needed.

Every group I join faffs about having a warlock revive everyone at start then proceeds to fail miserably as nobody takes the knights out consistently.

Managed it with one friend and a bunch of guys that knew how to stick to their roles and it made the encounter seem like child's play, every group I've been in since with my alts has been like banging my head against a brick wall!

Glad i'm not the only one that read that like :eek::confused::rolleyes:

As the sword man for our group, i can safely say that without the team communicating how much they're firing on him i wouldn't be able to get anywhere near the hits i do get on him. There's such a small window that the timing can be quite tricky, more so with a pickup group. Everything else is easy, the knights, the thralls, shooting crota and any oversouls. All easy point and aim stuff. But navigating the swordman is the hardest part.
