*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

Can crota boss be cheesed? Only one I know of is leader logging off when he's down, and that proves more effort than it's worth doing properly. If you're in a good team then crota is pretty easy period.

The exploit is actually very little effort. Sure, if you're in a good team that kills him first time, every time, then doing it as intended will be about as quick.

We tried the exploit last night and it worked perfectly. We also did it "legit" (I hate that term...) earlier in the week. While the exploit is there, I can see it being too tempting to not use, especially if it's getting late or there's been a number of wipes.

I won't be crying when they do fix it, but until they do, if I have the choice of getting loot in five minutes or doing trial and error for 2 hours to get it, it's going to be difficult to not go with the former.

one extra way of getting more shards is to rank Crotas Bane up to Level 4 - then you can use one black wax idol to swap energies for shards ;)

Man all these raid exploits are really lame..

What's the god damn point of playing when there is no way of telling if a player with 4/4 raid armor earned it legit or not (and in my experience majority of the community is cheesing content right now)...

Zzzzz

It's not exactly like the sections are difficult. I think most people have a go at it, manage it the 'legit' way then can't be arsed so cheese bits. Armour drops from the first two sections, which are a doddle. The problem you're having is you associate skill to level, the truth is that getting lucky with the RNG and being a level 32 has no real reflection on player skill in the slightest.

Here's the loot table for the crotas end raid.

Blame Bungie for making a boring repetitive grind fest and charging through the nose for the privilege. Run into once, fun, run it a few more times, ok, after that it's nothing more than a chore. People will justifiably look for the path of least resistance if the process becomes no fun, which it does.

If they had made it and tested it properly there would be no exploits, but they rushed it out to cash in on those still playing this shameless exploitative cash grab of a game.

Already most people seem to be talking about Destiny 2 as if Destiny is already dead.....it's only been out a few months.

Why have they made it so hard to get shards?

they don't want you to have maxed out raid gear in the first week.

last time, ppl (myslef included) complained that raid armor wasn't dropping enough.

so they buffed raid armor drop rates, but increased the amount of shards you need to level it up.

it's still a terrible way of doing things, because still the only way you are getting to lvl 32 b4 hard mode is released is if you have 3 chars to run the raid with, which doesn't really seem fair for those who only have time to maintain a single character.

hope they tone down the shard requirement tbh, but doubt they will.

Can't say I agree with most of your points. From a cost vs time spent playing point of view, Destiny must be the biggest bargain I've ever purchased, and that includes the DLC. Only Football Manager could challenge it in that regard.

You're obviously frustrated with the game but, for me, I still very much look forward to doing the weekly activities with people from this forum. Today, I was even taking a friend, who'd just recently bought the game, through all the Mars missions so he could level up quicker and get to the post level 20 end-game. I've done those missions countless times but I still find them to be good fun, especially if you're playing with friends.

I'm not sure where you're getting "most people seem to be talking about Destiny 2" from..? I can barely find a single mention of it on these forums, the Bungie forums, and Googling it only really shows up articles from when it was first mentioned at the beginning of November.

+1 on the above..

I enjoy the weekly exploits with the people on here and have made some good online friends through it.

Looking at Destinystatus.com I've spent 300+ hours playing destiny, and although some of it is a chore, and some of it repetitive, I've enjoyed it all and will enjoy many weeks/months of play. For me that's great VFM given the price it cost me.

I'm currently levelling up my 3rd character and eagerly awaiting having a crack at Hard mode in January with the usual OCUK XB1 team.

I enjoy Destiny and the Xbox lot on here makes it so much more fun too, especially on raids and weeklies.

I enjoy PvP but PvE with guys on here easily beats match making and LFG groups, making Destiny more a community game.

I'll be getting future expansions no doubt. The lack of story and exploits aside it's a supremely polished game and I have so signs of getting bored. Great starting point for years of game content.

Agreed, the community on here really makes Destiny awesome. I don't mind playing on my own but the people on here make it special.

Shame I'm away until Friday now :/

GOD DAMN IT!!1!

**** THIS CROTA FIGHT!!1!

6 hrs of wiping (with the same fireteam as well) this week for no rewards. QQ.

Got him to <10% several times, but no cigar. :(

Anyone who says this encounter is "easy" can go do one :p

You/your team mostly 30's or 31's? at 31 it's pretty easy, at 30 it's damn hard because you're massively under-levelled.

I find when we struggle it's a combination of someone not pulling their weight or ammo issues. The ammo drops are particularly scarce during the Crota fight.

Level is a huge deal too, our level 31 sniper had the boomer knights down in two icebreaker shots last night, we didn't have to even think about the boomers. Tonight, on his 30 alt, it was taking 3 shots and suddenly we had to be a bit more cautious when they were up.

Needless to say, we didn't get him tonight. We got him to needing one sword hit, I'm not even joking, then someone died... Got the oversoul, but then another dropped and it was game over.

Gunna have another crack tomorrow, I want that Rocket launcher to match my sniper and machine gun. :D
