Hi there

DFI Infinity 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
MB-020-DF_400.jpg

ATI Crossfire is becoming more and more popular in the market with every passing day. Unfortunately Intel users have been restricted to using nVidia SLI solutions. But now with the Infinity 975X users can finally build a system that combines the extreme GPU processing power offered by ATI crossfire graphics cards with Intel’s long awaited Conroe CPUs. Since DFI is always looking to the future they have incorporated next generation support for Intel Conroe CPUs. By doing this users gain the piece of mind that future upgrades of their Infinity 975X are possible. In addition to the standard I/O ports found on most motherboards the Infinity 975X also offers both optical and coaxial SPDIF out and also an eSATA connection providing users with even more flexibility. As always, DFI has taken advantage of the latest chipsets in the market and incorporating them with groundbreaking exclusive DFI overclocking technology. Because of this the Infinity series delivers rock-solid stability and power that every overclocker’s values.

- Support all Intel Socket 775 CPU's including latest Conroe Processors
- Intel 975X + ICH7R Chipsets
- 1066FSB/800FSB Support with great overclocking ability

This is great deal for a great mainboard which has support for Conroe including Quad Cores. :)

I reckon this is probably a good buy, apparently the latest bios has given this board a lot more overclocking potential, there is a thread on here somewhere which goes into more detail of bios changes.

I'll stick to my DS4 I think...
Although one of these would make a nice base for the rebuild I've promised the wife on her PC.

Hi,

Running this board at the moment, bought at launch - price is very good value. Paid 150 pounds at launch

Not bad board though, running c2d at 3ghz (6600)
Very stable, only problem the northbridge gets very hot, got mine upto 70c, put the thermalright northbridge cooler on dropped temps to around 48c (running for a few hrs)

They arrived yesterday from DFI so should be latest revisions. :)
Has anyone received one from this batch and can confirm that they are in fact the latest BA0 revision?

There is a rumour that the BA0 revision may be able to switch to 1333 FSB. In which case I could order this intead of a 680i and save myself £100!

Choices choices...

This board or the new..
Asus P5B-E Plus (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
same price at overlcockers.Running a 6300 and will need to get some new ddr2.
Really dont know what to get

OK, I've taken a punt on this one:

Goods Shipped:
£84.99 x 1 - DFI Infinity 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
£182.99 x 1 - Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

From what I have read (thanks Raja) the new BIOS should be able to max out the E6600 and quad-cores on air - which is all I really want.

Hopefully I will be able to report back on the mobo revision before the offer ends.

The new bios is still in the beta stage but can be downloaded from the DFI beta website.

Over at DFI Street some guy has hit 4ghz with his E6600 using the new bios so the fsb wall seems to be much less of an issue...totally unstable though.

I've had the board from day one and it's rock solid but my CPU voltage won't set correctly. Still trying to decide whether I'm doing something wrong or whether I should RMA.

Hi there, I dont suppose you have recieved your new motherboard yet? If so what revision is it & have you had any spare time to setup the new rig? Tempted to purchase one while the offer is still on thats all.

Received AB0 which is not the latest (BA0) and then again it is not the oldest (A00). From what I have read the only known change on the BA0 is some reworking in the RAM area. One owner reported, "that it may seem a little easier to clock the memory on the BA0".

i don't like how different revisions of products are released but a lot of the time the consumer has no idea what he will end up with, with particular regard to motherboards and memory.

it's not fair to blame the retailers, but at the same time this gear isn't cheap and as they are essentially enthausiast products sometimes i feel we are taken for mugs when we can't get the information we require.

there's usually no mention on the products page and rarely do staff answer queries on this type of thing.

annoying no?
