dfi nf3 is 3 754 3 full dimm sockets poss

hi

ive just bought some more ram to go with my 512 of xms 3700 . 1gig of geil value ram . I slapped it in and I could only get it to recognise 2 dimms wichever combination I put them in . Now all of a sudden it wont recognise my xms if I put any more ram in . so ive got 3 choices

1. put the 1 gig of geil in and sell the xms

2. vice versa

3. try to get the mobo to recognise all 3 dimms

no 3 is where you guys come in , is it poss to get this mobo to get all 3 dimms working

I would only be a guess but i would think your problem is to do with the fact you have different types of memory.

From your sig i see you have overclocked your system, have you reset it to stock before fitting the memory?

Mixing RAM is a bit of a risk mate, I expect you'll find that to be the problem, especially as the timings are different (i'm guessing XMS will have tighter timings than Geil Value).

My son has this board and has all 3 slots filled. He started off with 512 ballistik 3200 then added, 6 months later, 512 balistik 4000 - No go would not show 1 gig at all.

So I gave him my ram from my old NF2 which was 2 sticks of 256 of samsung and one of 512 samsung and he has had no problems for over a year now.

The 2 ballistiks worked fine in my NF2 at 3200.
