DFI RD600 - Official Web Page Up!

Pending good user reviews i'm definately getting this bad boy, it's why I haven't gone for the new NV chipsets. :)

The manual is available online to read through.

I think its pretty much confirmed: x8/x8 Bandwidth for the Crossfire setups :/
Physics will run on x4 lanes.

Best C2D Intel Overclocking motherboard available ?
Async Memory overclocking ?
Crossfire with Xpress Route and Physics availability ?

While I'm sure this mobo will rock I don't expect the driver support from AMD to be all that nice... I'm holding out for the DFI nF680i board which looks to be equally impressive.

not sure i can see what this board does that any other boards on the market today to seriously well

maybe i'm missing the point a little i dunno.

i'm buying a C2D board on the 4th of jan so i guess it all comes down to whether this is awesome and around the £80-£120 mark.

Hmmmm..........

I'm having a serious heart to heart with myself over this board now..... it doesn't offer my current setup anything that a 'normal' 975x based board would give me.

Im tempted to just either get an Infinity 975x or go down the 680i route and swap out the Video cards.....

 Seriously don't know what to do with my setup now :(

i'll wait for some "proper" reviews of the final board to be done and see how the clocking goes. but as of now they dont seem to be showing it as a great clocker from the other thread ive seen on these boards, the ad doesnt even show it past 500mhz :(

so for single card its still 16x? i think ill just buy a X1900 XT or so till some gorgeous 2nd gen DX10 cards come out.

I think for the majority Cross fire wont be too much of an issue (or am i wrong :S) i think most ppl will use 1 card.

I was under the impression the 8800 needs x16 bandwidth? So I'd assume the R600 is the same, so what happens with only 8x+8x slots in xfire? Does the bridge make up the rest or what?

its only 8x when crossfire +physics as i read it , if just crossfire then i think its 16x
I don't think so, the 8+8 info is nothing new unfortunately. The x16 reference is the physical slot size.

3 PCI Express x16 slots for ATI CrossFire and ATI Physics
2+1 Configuration (2 Graphics + 1 Physics)
- 2 ATI CrossFire graphics cards (each operates at x8 bandwidth).
- 1 ATI Physics graphics card operates at x2 bandwidth.

i think for those looking to scrape every last bit of bandwidth out of their memory this board will be king, the super-pi record chasing bunch at XS etc

for real world use i'd be very surprised if this board was any more useful than 975 or 680i.

too much hype.

Unless I've been missing something, the fact that there hasn't been any pimpage of this boards performance yet doesn't bode well for it.

Can't wait to see the joke of a price for this one as well. :D
It SHOULD be cheaper, the RD600 ($30-50) chipset is supposed to be quite a bit cheaper than the 680i ($100). But then there is the limited supply and the usual wallet pillaging markup.

well the 980i has the performance akin to 975 under 1699qfsb, over that you get the performance of the 965 chipset.

Shamino at vr-zone has already said that the 980i is slighlty faster at superpi than the RD600.

For air/water clocks it's hard to notice the differnce really, other than a few points here and there.

The 975 boards that can hit 445fsb are still hard to beat for price and perfomance.

Even still I'll get a rd600...

I have the striker and I must say Ilke a lot about the board physically, but I must sy that performance over 1699fsb in no way justifies even 75% of the price tag.
