Been through the rather large thread on the DFI and cant seem to find the settings I Need so can anyone help?

Mobo is the DFI Lanparty SLI-D with 623 BIOS
With Geil Dual channel 2x1GB Sticks

Got the 146 running at 3Ghz but the RAM will only boot with a dividerof 100(1/02) with very slack timings and 2T.

I'm sure its something I'm doing in the settings as I have memtested these upto 210Mhz.

Can someone who has this board and RAM post thier full settings for the RAM incl Volts, or point me at a place where they already are posted so I can see where I am going wrong.

Cheers

Tried them in both orange and yellow, each stick individually. I think when a mate came up we mucked with the settings but I dont know what he did.

Currently running in orange

If you've been playing with settings you don't understand someone should give you both a wallop upside the head :D

Try resetting the CMOS using the jumpers on the mobo. Presuming you still have the manual the instructions on how to do this will be found there. Alternatively you can find it on the DFI site.

:D :D Already wallopped myself! :D :D
Was a mate who knows what he is doing on the memory side but he's off skiing so cant tell me what he did (he changed a lot of the unusual settings).

Have looked through numerous sites but just wondered if anyone else had the same mobo & RAM combination and could post what they found best!

Tried that and no-go - still wont get as far as booting into windows.

The machine sometimes, randomly just reboots (after 2 hours this time), think it could be a power issue? All the mbm5 stats look good!

Dont understand it, lowered the CPU to 2800, used SP2004 to blend stress test and the computer shut itself off after 8hours 33mins. Anyone any ideas what could be doing this?

If you've underclocked both the RAM and CPU, reset the CMOS and still no luck you could try memtest to rule out faulty RAM

Another option would be to try a different BIOS version. Of course that's all good if it's hardware related. Have you checked your Event logs to see if anything has flagged up as a software related problem?

Check in Control Panel>Performance and maintenance>Administrative tools>Event viewer.

Have you tried the latest Nforce drivers/Graphics drivers?

this is worrying me slightly, i'm intending to use my XMS4400 in the DFI UT NF4 Ultra-D. I'm now expecting to run into lots of probs :(

what do all those settings apply to?

What do you mean?

Where are they in the BIOS, or what do they do?

Tref, Trc and Trfc are memory timings of sorts.

RAM voltage is self explanatory and LDT Multi is, well, the LDT multi.

Just noticed Dirk is here - we'll probably have another bust-up over our different opinions on this subject... ;) :D

Just pick your RAM from one of the posts on the DFI forum:-

http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25447

Bang those settings in and it should be fine.
I couldnt get my Corsair 2x512Mb XMS3200C2LP stable on my Ultra-D until i used those settings (5hrs prime95 at 2.7v until an error stopped it, once it was set to 2.8v it did 12hrs+ until i stopped it).

I wouldn't worry too much, of course it's always a good idea to buy memory that is listed as working with this board as it is a bit picky about memory, but if you already have the XMS4400 that doesn't help you much. However, I use 2GB of XMS4000 without a hitch on this board, it runs absolutely fine, yet others, it seems, find a lot of Corsair to be really quite tricky to get working right, mine on the other hand worked right out of the box on auto settings, problem free.

You'll probably be ok anyway.

Thanks for all the advice, will update how I got on over the weekend - been away and shattered so cant tonight.

Ta!

if you're planning running the corsair with an opty and doing some ram overclocking, watch yourself, dfi isn't a big fan of corsair, takes some twiddling, and even then still well down on what a dfi can do with for example some gskill tccd. I cut my losses and bought some gskill in the end, printed off one of the guides and can get 310mhz at 1t with 2.5-3-4-8. My corsair on an asus board would do 300+, but with the dfi at 1t, only managed 250 odd at 1T.

Good luck, you'll be needing it!

Been to the DFI-street website and cant find the settings for the Geil Value dual channel 2 x 1 GB. Machine shut itself down again last night while blend test!

Have run memtest for 7 hours and no errors. Think it could be a driver issue? or any ideas?
