Chipset fan has been idling at around 48-50, not acceptable imo, as the chipset fan has been placed in a stupid spot. What fan/heatsink could i use without obstructing my 7800gt and get decent temps.

TBH I don't see how you can replace it at all.
Both my 7800GT's hand directly over it and theres not much gap between them and the fan... and its pretty low profile as it is...
TBH though if your not having a problem with it I wouldn't trying to change it.
I suppose you could remove it and replace the TIM with Arctic Silver, that might knock a few degree's off...
