I just picked up a DFI NF4 Ultra-D the other day and finally got round to installing it this afternoon. I spent around 4-5 hours trying to get Windows to install - kept blue-screening, or would get problems with the SATA drives/drivers. Eventually I got Windows installed and running fine by taking out my 2*512MB GSkill 4400 TCCD and replacing with a generic 512MB stick with Samsung TCCC.
I've tried installing the GSkill again, both in the orange slots and the yellow slots but I keep getting BSOD when Windows starts to load - I've even tried it with one stick in slots 1 and 2 with the same result.
I've run MemTest86 and no errors are found so it must be some sort of compatibility issue - my question is, how on earth do I fix it!??
Is there a common problem with this board and TCCD?

I'm running everything at stock at the moment - the only change I've made is trying to run the ram on 2.7v instead of the 2.6v default.
I've installed the latest beta bios after having my initial install problems (not that it helped with them any) - are there any bios' known to fix this issue, if indeed this is a common problem??

I've been on an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe for over a year now and not had a single problem with it. As much as I liked that board, and the problems I've had so far with the DFI, I don't really want to have to go back to it - the thought of having to reinstall everything is extremely depressing! :(

have you tried clearing the cmos before putting in the new ram so the timings will revert to defaults? had to do that on my dads cos it wouldnt boot with geil ultra x which i think is tccd to. oh also i had to run 2t which kinda sucks but its the only way it wont fail in windows.

Cheers for the reply - I've cleared the CMOS several times but as I say, each stick of ram Ive put in has only run at SPD anyway.
I really hope I don't have to run at 2T - running high FSB's on 1T is pretty much the only reason this board is better than the Asus!

Download and flash to the 704-1 BTA bios, its RAM SPD table abilities are brilliant and friendly especially towards TCCD.

Cheers, I've downloaded it and will give it a try in the morning - I would try it just now but I know that if it doesn't work I'll be extremely frustrated and struggle to sleep! At least this gives me hope for the morning... :D

Cheers for the replies, I've finally got them up and running! Downloaded the recommended BIOS and also ran some settings that were recommended on another board - the consensus was that this board can be a little off when running default timings, so although trying to load Windows at default SPD of 2.5-4-4-8 resulted in BSOD, here I am running fine in Windows at 1.5-3-3-6!
