hi

on the netgear DG834PN router how do you make it give a certain mac address the same fixed i.p every time ie i always want my wireless connection from my pc to have i.p 192.168.0.2?

thanks

Doubt it's possible using the limited DHCP servers present in home Routers.

You could just start DHCP at 192.168.0.3 and manually assign your PC an IP.

my dg843g has a LAN IP Setup page that allows you to do it, as assume the PN will too?!?
Go for it then - either explain to the OP loosely what to do, or I suppose if they RTFM, they might find out themselves.

I didn't really think this was a feature present in most DHCPd implementations on home routers - I haven't seen it in Linksys or Draytek models I've used, for example.

my safecom router used to have this option but i can't see it in any of the netgear's menus

Draytek will do it as well, but from what I recall its only possible via the command line.
