Diablo 3 Collector's Edition

I've been umming and ahhing over this, not played the first 2 tho. having taken so long to decide I've missed £55-£60 deals and most/all reputable places have stopped taking the pre-order, only places I can find today are the jersey based site and our ever popular high street shops with the administration issues(so not sure if its worth the risk pre-ordering from them, will they even be getting them tho its available to pre-order on their sites).
 
I really want the collectors edition, but i cant justify more than twice the price for some wings, some dyes and some tat in a box... then again i think ill be filled with regret 2 years down the line when im still playing diablo 3 and everyone else has there armor dyed in smoke but me lol.

yeah i know how you feel, tho I've not played the first 2 diablo games and the c.e. comes with diablo 2 + expansion pack so that at least justifies some of the extra cost(more so if I'd managed to get the ~£55 offer from gamestop or tesco(we are allowed to mention them right? if not I'll edit)).

have done a bit more googling and it appears that asda it to pre-order again(I looked the other day and it said not available), they have a 10% off voucher code for pre-orders so its £62.99
 
Shopto have been out of stock all day now. I've had my normal edition pre ordered for ages, but decided to go for the CE a few days ago :D

It may be expensive, but the Diablo series is my favourite... and you get cool stuff :p

IIRC im sure i've read that while putting gear on the auction house makes it lose all dyes, dropping it will not. So if you know someone with the collectors edition, you can drop trade items and they can dye them for you.

Always the chance of them pulling a fast one if they aren't a friend though.

lol ya felt the same way - 40pounds more for some dye and wings bleh - but then again if Im still playing 3 years from now - the dye and wings will be the only thing out of my reach ... funny I remember I bought the CE of diablo 2 (think we got some lousey boardgame with that) - might even have that box somewhere stored in my parents basement.
 
I bit the bullet and ordered from asda for £62.99, went via quidco so hope get another £1 or so off so~£62

if I had ordered from gamestop when it was available would have saved ~£6/£7 but oh well.

hope the diablo 2 on the usb is win 7 compatible, is not having played the original diablo going to be an issue?
 
No way I can justify getting the CE. Some stuff that will remain in the box and I'll never watch and ingame items. IN GAME ITEMS, double the retail price for something virtual? Nahh. You'd be better off getting the regular edition and spending money in the auction house if that's your thing!

I have £8 on my GAME account, but do I honestly risk preodering it from them? I will blow my top if they cancel the preorder or deliver late!

Ah, it was from gamestop as linked to above, I searched my inbox for gamestop and found it :)

lucky you, at the time when the gamestop pre-order was available I was still trying to decide if I should/shouldn't pre-order.

still trying to decide if the c.e is worth the extra or if I should cancel and get the standard edition later on down the line, I've still got a number of other games to play through which I've bought but not played(many on steam in the steam sales over the last couple of years).

got an email from quidco saying the transaction has tracked, showing as £1.03 as the expected cash back under my activity so hopefully don't get it rejected in a few months.

I also had a Game preorder for the standard edition for £24.49, but I cancelled that one.
