As a avid lover of the original Sharpe series I hope this is a new episode/series on ITV and that they are not rehashing past episodes.

Anyone know anything?

I think I just saw the exact same thing!

Said to the missus "Did I just see an advert for a new Sharpe?" to which she replied "What the hell is Sharpe!?"

Some people know nothing.

I saw the ad a few days ago - looked like one of the prequel books, when Sharpe is in India but hard to tell - Sharpe's Challenge or something. Didn't catch when it was on though. Lets face it, even if it is the old episodes I'll still be watching it. Gotta be better than all this reality carp we've been having to put up with.

ye it been in the making for a while a new series is back (well supposedly later this year) and i cant wait they rock :D

Not seen advert myself have to keep a look out. :)

You think they will of put enough money into the episodes this time so it doesnt look like the North Somercoates Sealed Knot society reinacting the battles?

Or paid for some decent script writers, directors, actors...........

I've just re read all my sharpes books this year, its taken me this long to get over and face reading them after ITV's last butchering of the Sharpe story.

It was epic TV. Even watching it now is still totally engrossing, which is very rare for anything that goes out on ITV!

(Hornblower did indeed also rock!)

Dammit, I had to missed it as I had a football trophy presentation!
