Difference N80 & N73

to the OP - It would be best if you could use one before buying to see if you like them or not. As opinions seem to vary widly over these phones. I find the n80 fits into my life well despite the 2-3 day battery life. That may not be good enough for you.

Nah i dont hate them, hate is too strong a word...i just wont bother buying another nokia phone especially the s60 series of phones, it will be a cold day in hell before i ever go back to nokia UNLESS they release a phone that has everything i want a la N80 or P990i style but with a better implementation of their software and operating system. But i cant see that happening, perhaps i had a faulty/buggy N80 but i did send it back and they said nothing was wrong with it....i was offered an exchange but i declined as i wasnt willing to put up with perhaps another n80 that wasnt any much better. So off i went back to SE and i really dont know why i left SE to go nokia...biggest mistake ive ever made imho.
Paulus if it was between the k800i or W810i then i probably would have went for the k800i. A mate of mine has one although its on vodaphone so its been butchered beyond recognition but otherwise its a superb phone...was most impressed with the camera quality.

Spawn, what was your beef with the N80 again?
EDIT - just re-read nearly the entire N80 thread... Did you by chance ever look to see what version firmware you had on your N80? I sent my original N80 back because of the 'out of memory' problems and the one I got back had the newer firmware. It's been absolutely top notch since (and the battery life has improved considerably with age).

From what I can tell...W810i is mainly about the music, K800i is more about the camera?
Indeed it is, W810i is more a walkman type of phone whereas the k800i will play music and play it very good but its more known for its camera tbh.

. Personally i dont have any beef with the phone, as i said its lovely phone with all the features i could possibly want but the implementation of these features truly do suck eggs. As for my version??, well i would imagine it would be one of the very first firmware phones but tbh i couldnt be arsed to get it replaced with a new one as it had already put me off nokia....mainly due to the crap 6680 i bought a yr ago...another terrible slow phone...i was hoping the n80 would have put a smile on my face but it didnt. Plus the phone itself is like a mini brick, never had something so thick in my pocket before and as i said the slider mechanism is very very poor....way too much play in it for my liking, wasnt as solid as i would have hoped it would be.
Anyways good for you if your new phone works fine, personally i wasnt willing to take another chance on it. But doesnt matter anymore as i should have my brand new p990i in the next day or so and knowing SE, well it will definitely knock the n80 out of touch imho.

Well you did have a problem with it (ie, beef), and I was just asking what that was again, but I found out by digging up the old N80 thread. No need to get so defensive about it! My friend at work just recently got an N80 on Three, and by god is the slide on his terrible. It just goes to show that there must be a huge variation in the quality of the units. My guess is you must have had a real duffer, probably with pre-release firmware (since you had the phone literally the second it was released, and probably not from a very reliable source since you got it on eBay).
