Digitalrev...anyone got any experience?

Has anyone tried Tdimension? Their prices are very good although they do not take into account import duty like Digitalrev.

You're not guaranteed to have to pay that duty though and if you do it looks to be about the same cost as DR anyway so worth a go possibly.

Also if you pay in HK dollars it works out about 7-8% cheaper again due to the exchange rate.

The problems with any of these stores is warranties and issues with things go wrong. i understand that some like have a pseudo warranty service but this still means shipping the camera back to HK and even if they offer a UK sipping address you still have the problem that you probably don't have an official UK/EU warranty.

I am even hesitant to buy such expensive items online at all and prefer to get something form a real shop. When I lived in Switzerland there was a great camera shop run by 2 very old gentlemen who loved photography. They would have very good prices. My GF purchased a D7000 for less than anywhere online in Switzerland, Germany, France, UK, Italy, Canada and USA - didn't look elsewhere.
 
£840 or so at hdew with 3 year warranty (latter 2 years covered by hdew).

Blimey that HDEW site is cheap. I'm looking at a macro lens at the moment and they're over £200 cheaper than Jessops and £100 less than any other price I'd found.

Very tempting to take the chance they're legit. Seem to be plenty of people on dpreview who say they're ok.
 
I took the plunge and ordered from HDEW.

No problems at all. I emailed a question and got an answer in less than 30 minutes. I ordered monday night and it arrived today. No extra import tax or anything to pay.
The lens is a standard Canon brand new in the box etc, just as you would get in the shops. Works fine.
