Does direct lit LCD still exist as a current technology or has everything moved to the inferior edge lit now?

I know OLED trumps all now, but it's way out of my price range.

You can pick up a used 1080p OLED for 900 or a new one for 1200/1300. You'll need to spend that to get a decent LCD anyway...
