could someone tell me more about D2D i'm mainly a retail and steam person.

Is using D2D just like buying the retail version as some of those offers look very tempting

if 2 games were on d2d and steam for the same price would you be better off getting the steam version or the d2d version

I purchased my first D2D game yesterday morning, Black Shark.

Personally, I believe Steam is the better platform HOWEVER, I dont have any complaints about D2D.

You download a Zip, extract it then run the installer.

Now, this could be tedious if you are downloading a 15GB zip, then having to extract it, then installing it, then patching it, this is where Steam wins hands down.

You can download as many times as you like and your product keys are saved in your accounts page.

Some games are pre patched to latest versions, some are not.

Download speeds maxed out my connection (6.0MBps) so no complaints there.

The download/install/patch process is more convenient when using Steam although it was a pleasent process and would definitely use D2D again.

Great price for GTA IV, but think I will wait for it to come onto Steam at that price.

It was on sale for £4.99 on 2 seperate days in the christmas sale (or holiday sale to Americans:p) I almost bought for that price even though I have the boxed PC version (£9.99 on release) and the PS3 version (present:free)

Come on steam, get some decent games on sale!

Hoping they have it up there again - they haven't had many good weekend deals recently. I missed the Steam sale, or would have bought it otherwise :(

With them already selling it for a fiver on 2 occasions, I was expecting them to bundle it with GTA: Epiodes, even if it bumped the price up to £24.99. Having said that, when Uncharted 2 was released on the PS3, it pushed the ebay auctions of Uncharted 1 up from £6-7 to about £17-18 so maybe that's why.

Would recommend Medieval 2. Just started playing through it 2 after years of it sitting on my shelf, brilliant so far, lives up to the others in the Total War series.

Downloading GTA4 for the 2nd time (first time round the zip file was corrupted), only getting around 320KB/s.

I've bought stuff from d2d before and got around 1.6MB/s which is the maximum my connection will go to. Either their servers are being hammered or they're limiting the bandwidth because the game's so cheap.
