directx 10 with older cards in sli?

Nope, you need a Dx10 card and Vista to run Dx10, Dx10 games will run in Dx9 when ran on a Dx9 card, and XP, and also run in Dx9 if ran on a DX9 card with Vista. :)

Could you use all DX10 "features" in Windows XP under OpenGL just out of curiosity? (with an 8800 for example)

Not that I am saying on XP once Vista is out.

Not really as DX10 is very different from open-gl. I suppose you should be able to get the same effects as DX10 with an extended version of open-gl.

Well if you say that then you might as well say that DX10 is an extended version of DirectX9. It's always possible to create an engine with the same features as another. OpenGL though just doesn't have the support base or the work hours being put into it to rival microsofts DX at the moment.
