It updates vista to dx11.

DXDIAG still reports version as DirectX 10.

Well, it did dump d3dx11_42.dll into my system32 directory, what the implications of that are is anyone's guess. (vista ultimate 64bit SP2)

Odd that it shows DX11 with no DX11 card though.

If you unzip the redist there are a couple of dx11 cabs in there.

Aug2009_d3dx11_42_x64.cab
Aug2009_d3dx11_42_x86.cab

And they contain the dll and a cat and some infs to install it. Not very big mind.

Not really it's just telling you what version software you are running.

But that's kind of my point, I'm not running it.

I have it installed, yes, but my PC is not DX11 capable and so cannot run it. Just find it odd is all.
Seems from this thread it still says DX10 for those on Vista, so out of interest is anyone running Vista with a DX9 card and if so does it still say DX10?
