Dirt3=24th May 2011

Its not the 'GFWL' that worries me when it comes to codemasters..

Its more the 'bull****' pre release screenshots and their none tested products - looking at you F1 2010 that worries me more.

I simply do not trust codemasters anymore. Shame, as I used to enjoy their games, but since F1 2010 been left with a bit of a sour taste for what they produce...

Granted they did eventually attempt to fix F1 2010 and to a degree it has been patched, but F1 2010 is still a buggy game for PC gamers..

Yeah, and no other publisher releases stuff that's buggy?! Can't remember the last BIg release that came out fully great!

Which is so very true.... However, F1 2010 just stuck in my mind and linked it with the release date of dirt 2 from the same company.. But isn't it another studio working on Dirt3 from that of F1 2010?

I've been trying to play Dirt 2, but it keeps on crashing to desktop during the menus or after a race.

Googling revealed that this is a problem others have been having as well.

I was finally able to play the game really well with my X box controller, but it keeps on crashing :(

I think a more accurate interpretation of Codemasters business practicces is that they release games with bugs in (which granted all other companies do) and then Don't patch it. I've seen a number of Codemasters games where a game has been left completely unpatched or a single patch or two are released which still do not fix a number of issues or introduce new ones.

It seems to be part of Codemasters culture, partly to do with Codemasters being mostly in house studios where the money men have a bigger influence than the developers which is a shame.

Why fix the problems for free when the community will pay for them in the next version.

Every publisher that releases, or plans to release, a sequel does this. EA are probably more guilty of this than anyone with their yearly updates.

So noobs like me crash less? :p

:)

Just seems a backwards step from Dirt 2 imho.

Odd thing is, in making the tracks wider you'll reduce the sensation of speed. Just hope the camera fov hasn't been widened to compensate for this.

I'll just wait on the reviews before deciding, as I had good fun with Dirt 2 & a steering wheel.

I hope they get rid of all the american xgames rubbish and snorefest buggy races etc. I want a damn rally game.

Yes indeed, I was going to start looking for a way to mod it changing the music and the yanky accents, as you all know the yankies don't do rally like we do in Europe. A bit of the 80's on the wireless :p

Other than that it is the most fantastic looking game and runs silky smooth at 1920x1080 on my i3 530 ,Asus 6850 Direct CU.

I was trying to play FSX earlier and it looked like a game for a 486 DX

It's hard to believe it is the same machine!!!
