Discuss - S2000

What a bunch of point twoers.

On a more serious note the S2000 is a cracking car and i rate it very highly, some cracking bargains to be had, however the engine isn't my first choice.

S'okay ;)

I've had mine since 23. You will need to shop around on the insurance, but as of the last 6 months it has become harder to insure them.

I love mine!

That car is far from standard and if you want to modify an S2K be prepared to pay for it in a big way, for some reason S2K aftermarket parts are expensive, especially the Jap brands

I do admire older Hondas but i'm not a particular fan of roadsters so I like them but I wouldnt own one

Far? Not really.

Externally it's alloys, wing mirrors, painted (or different) hard-top, some work to the standard front bumper, the Honda side badges shaved and the addition of the wing.

As for under the shell. Well, it's had least had lowering springs, or perhaps full coil-overs but that's about the only thing you could ascertain from looking at it.

Not sure why you think S2000s are any more expensive than other cars of a similar position to modify. There is a huge range of parts and manufacturers, from budget to the ridiculous Mugen/Js stuff. Just because you CAN spend a grand on a single intake does not mean all intakes cost a grand!

My cat-back cost £300 and is of great quality. I could have paid that on my old Focus 1.8.

I'd say thats quite highly modified but thats subjective so we'll leave it at that.

I'd also say £300 for cat back is particulary cheap, especialy if its twin exit, but again, subjective.

My posts are not fact they are opinion

I owned one, it was fun enough, interior is a highlight as are the looks

the engine is marmite and the handling is reasonable

given their current prices I think they represent decent value for money and reliability

Someone call the police. Someone has kidnapped Will Gill and replaced him with a reasonable, compromising poster.

Very unsettling.

A few basic bits changed and that's highly modified, what planet do you live on?

I love the s2000, was on my shortlist for a next car however I just couldnt justify paying over £1200 for insurance and im 29. Personally I loved the interior, and the gearbox is just sublime, you have to work the engine but thats all just part of the experience. I ended up plumping for a 350z in the end, if I hadnt previously owned a DC2 I probably would have given it more consideration. Fancied a change from the vtec.
