Display port 1.4 or HDMI 2.0b?

Which is the best way to connect a second monitor to an MSI 1070 Gaming X? I have two DVI monitors one is already connected via DL-DVI but I'll need to get an adapter to connect the second.

I can see ones that will do 1080p but my monitors are 1440p @75Hz.

whichever route you choose, you need an active adapter for converting to DVI. normally inactive cables are single link however someone will correct me if im wrong here - its been a while since dealing with dvi.

Thanks I have been reading similar advice. Makes sense as the HDMI/DP signal needs converting to DVI. A bit annoying as the screens are very good, certainly don't want to get rid of them.

I am using a displayport adapter to dual link DVI (2560x1600 in my case). I did indeed need an active adapter.

You don't need to get rid of the screens. Just buy an active adapter.

I use a very old Apple one that I bought for a Macbook Pro years ago. Works fine.
