Do i need dual screens?

I currently work with a 17" 4:3 monitor with 1028x768. I feel i need more space within photoshop so decided to get dual monitors. Do i really need two monitors or would a nice 22" widescreen do the job?

See, i dont have much workspace and i dont have a monitor at all.

So i could buy 2 19" non widescreen but i want widescreen as im gaming so thats out the window..

Or i could get a 22" widescreen on its own or 2 20" widescreens and put them on top of each other wallmounted?

Its so annoying being stuck with the monitors as this is preventing me buying my rig..

can't you get a nice 22'' and then keep your old 17'' and have dual as well as? Or will you be e-baying your 17'' to fund the monitor(s)

not my 17" monitor. Its family's pc.
