Do i need to change the water?

How does the water look?
Does it smell funny?
Has it been kept topped up?
Additives?
Mixed metal loop?

I usually do it on condition, but saying that I tend to fiddle with the setup once every 5-6 months and change the water then.

I've had a copper/brass/acetal/perspex loop running for about 18 months now with distilled and HydrX addative with no problems whatsoever.

Any sort of impingement block tends to collect gunk/impurities through use and will benefit from regular cleaning.

I'll be changing it in a few weeks time for a new rig and expect to find some surprises inside.

short answer:

you shouldnt need to.
my koolance has been going about 2.5-3 years on 1 fill. with a few ml topup every 9 months or so....

Thanks

I basically wanna keep my watercooling alive for another 18 months till I upgrade my whole machine with a new one.

Ive got a bay reservoir and its gonna be hell to dry that up not to mention the messy job i did with the tubes so i better leave the whole setup run its course.

unless you can see particles floating in your res or the water itself is just really really dirty i wouldn't bother at all.
