Yesterday the wife ordered some new face masks by phone - about a hour or so later the landline rang and caller display was showing a mobile number - I let it ring for a while then picked it up but said nothing - All was silent till I said hallu then it clicked off.
Would that have been the seller checking the land line was legit and working.
Normally we don't answer mobile call because they are usually spam calls.

Thanks

I always say Hallu -confuses the caller

OK - would or do "some" sellers use automated calling to confirm a phone number ? - It just seemed odd that after a few months of no spam calls this one popped up an hour after an order.

B/F must be desperate.

It's a robocaller checking your phone number and now that you have answered it it will mark your phone number as active so expect lots of spammy calls in the future.

Were the first 6 digits of the number the same as yours?

Had a load come through yesterday and first 6 matched my own number. The last few varied between calls.

Humans see patterns in everything. Was a coincidence.
