Do up scaling dvd players, upscale divx movies as well or just DVD ?

If its a DivX player as well as a DVD player and has upscaling, then yes.

yes they do, and decent ones make divx's look so so nice, nearly normal dvd quality

I want a DVD player that can do this

Yeah right.

Upscaling does what it says on the tin. It can't magic missing picture data back.

Upscaling players are basically a waste of money with a decent LCD TV as the TV has it's own scaler built in.

Once I mistook a VCD for BluRay because the lead was gold plated :eek:
