Do you care how your card looks?

If i have a window i like it to look good (im in the IT business and showing something flashy to customers works a treat) if there is no window i go for as cool and quiet as possible.

Thanks for that, i assume the backplate will work fine on a gigabyte card, or will removing the factory screws effect warranty, (not sure how fickle gigabyte are about warranty conditions). High flow brackets shouldnt be an issue though.

Haha, it's just me then that cares about how the inside of my PC looks, whilst not having a side window ( I want neat cable management, a nice looking graphics card etc. )

Hell, maybe I should invest some time in tidying my actual desk instead.

not really my case dont have a window, and the cards HSF is mounted facing down in the case so lol maybe i might one day if my money overtakes my senses lol

...bit like buying a fast sports car..sure it'll go 0-60 in under 5 seconds but would be disappointing if it didn't have metallic/pearlescent paint and/or leather interior etc etc.

That's not a very good analogy :p

The exterior looks of the car = case
The interior = desk and chair
The engine = cpu and gpu

I really wouldn't give a stuff about what the engine in my R8 looked like if I had one. ;)

I got a nice clear window on my case that sits on my desk so I prefer a decent looking card, bought the backplate for my 480 mainly for the looks rather than to gain lower temps 0_o

+1
The clean black shroud on my 470 was ruined by the bare cluttered pcb.

my card looks?

can't see it inside my elegant case, so no.

never understood why people would go for window cases with bright LED's. computer should hide away and you shouldn't need to care what's inside.

I think it comes down to personal preference, if everyone liked the same understated, minimalist design then there wouldn't be such a wide range of cases out today. Fact is some people like there PC's to look like a christmas tree
