Following on from frosties "What do you carry in your car?" thread, I just wondered how many of you carry some sort of implement in your car that is there explicitly for self defense?

This hasn't been posted with the intent to break the rules as such, and if it does - please remove. I'd also request that keyboard warrior banter be kept to a minimum.

I don't carry anything explicitly for the purpose but I have certain items that could double.

I have a crowbar under the backseats of my car, although that wasn't placed there in the first place for defensive measures, I've left it there because you never know what happens. Some of the places I go to with my mates are pretty rough.

(the crowbar was from wrecking and dismantling old furniture for wood and such)

Nothing.

I know what these "self defense" court cases are like now, you'll end up in prison for protecting yourself or your car.

My life is more valuable than my car, if somebody wants to take it and they've got a gun to my head, who am i to stop them.

I suppose tyre weld in the face isn't going to be pleasant, other than that maybe I could throw a cd hard enough to sever a limb.

Nothing for self defence, but thats not the only form of "protection" you need to carry.

;)

I don't carry anything in the car bar what I need in there. If you feel the need to have some implement in there for hurting someone/defending yourself you are a muppet in my opinion.

Oh, and as for other protection...not in the car, in the wallet. :p

Do you get a lot of sea rage? You know, people cutting you up and raising nasty flags at you? :p

What do you do? Throw fish fingers at them? :p:D

I like to sail at unsuspecting toroids in hire boats and shout "STARBOARD!" or "PORT!" as appropriate.

They have no idea what it means, but they do seem to understand it requires some kind of action from them.

I'd be brash and state that most people in this thread have no intention of using implements unless they needed to defend themselves. To be honest I don't think i'd be a muppet of some bloke who was having a bad day came at me with a knife. It would be firstly to leg it, and if that wasnt possible, its whatever to hand goes, whether it be a spiked club or a rolled up womens weekly :p
