Do you drive with the rear wiper on?

It gets used occasionally on my Mondeo and from other cars I've had I'd miss it if it wasn't there. In the past when I've owned estates it was esential as they seem to be far worse.

Surely this is should be a "why do women drive with their rear wipers on full pelt?" post?

Quite. I don't know why it irritates me so much sitting behind a car wagging its tail at me, but it does!

I can only imagine the annoying scrreeeeeech noise the wipers are making as they're wiping dry glass ;)

I have mine on intermittent as I've no mudflaps, kicks up a fair bit of spray, and my commute takes me on some less clean roads that tend to muddy up the rear view.

Some cars you just have to use them on as they seem prone to the glass dirtying quickly, or not having any airflow over it leading to sitting water, unlike others.

Its a point of annoyance in some cars for me, never used one thats had intermittant as an option on the rear.

I typically just use it once when setting off, or once every so often if its a busy motorway with lots of spray. In the later situation intermittant would be handy, but i've either got to do it by hand or have my car wag its tail like some retarded dog.

I've never driven in conditions where the continuous (and only) option was useful

I'll turn it on if I can't see anything, its no more complicated than that. I might use continuous if it's raining heavily, intermittent is quite useful, otherwise its the odd occasion. Personally it doesn't bother me how other drivers use their wipers.

No because my car is awesome and doesn't have or need one.

Whilst we share the same awesomeness in cars, it kills me that I don't have a rear wiper. It bugs me so much that I would even consider a touring next just to have one. I'm investing in some rain-x to see if it will ease the pain.

When I first got it, I thought nothing of it. Then it rained, and rained, and rained. Then it rained some more. Every time I got in that car I could not see out of the back window. Drives me crazy.
