Do you drive with the rear wiper on?

Depends on the car. Rarely needed it on the Leon, but in our V50 the back window gets covered in spray rather quickly when it's raining.

I never leave it on in the dry as I actually do pay attention when driving.
People who have it on when it's not raining really **** me off. How can you not notice it?! Grr.

Can someone make me a quick pole please?

When it's raining,

a: I drive with the rear wiper on
b: No, I dont drive with the wiper on
c: I dont even have a rear wiper

I have been noticing this a lot more recently, but when it's raining I drive with my front wipers on (speed dependant on conditions) but i never use the rear wiper and infact my last car didnt have one.

As the driver of the car behind someone with their rear wiper on full pelt (whilst even my fronts were on intermittant) it becomes really off putting. Also IMO physics would dictate that once clear, the view through the rear window would not become compromised because of the direction of travel.

Anyways, yup its another motoring gripe thread.
C because I drive a real car. :p

A.

Very thankfully that the rear wiper was one of the few option boxes the original owner of my car ticked. I have it on intermediate pretty much as soon as it starts raining moderately. A rear wiper is pretty much a necessity with the stop/start driving I do.

i use mine a lot. Theres a gap in the rear spoiler that channels all the water down the center of the screen. At speed i dont really have that issue, but spray does infill the wake of the car causing it to mist up with fine drops of dirty water. So yes, i need to use it.

I know a lot of people dont even look behind them so probably dont need a rear wiper, and i suppose we could get rid of rear windows totally?

i think mine only does intermittent, in which case if its raining heavy i leave it switched to on to sort itself out, easier than having to manualy turn it on and off all the time. Then just turn it off when I end the journey.

For some reason in the works van the control is back to front so i constantly leave it on full pelt without realising as the van had tinted rear windows and a grill between the front seats and the back so its not easy to tell, must look a right pillock

I used to drive with it on, but it hasn't worked for about a year now! Good old French electrics :p Haven't missed it though.

P.S - The people who don't have one obviously don't have one for a reaons :p Angle of screen etc.
