I've been close to needing one when I've done it. I usually manage to hold it till I'm at least near the Wednesday ground! Then it doesn't really matter where you do it.

The local shop with a young lass at the till! You buy a 4-pack of loo rolls and wonder if shes looking at you thinking:

Most embarrassing thing i've ever bought over the counter was that durex play lube stuff that warms up. I was with the girlfriend in boots and went for the condoms and she added that stuff too, I felt like all eyes were on me as I walked to the counter. And boots being boots it had to be a gorgeous woman serving me too didn't it. Bad Times. : \

I found it a little awkward when I (stupidly) bought them from the pharmacy my ex works at. But she decided to take that instant to go on her break and made somebody else serve me. Meh, I count that as a win!
It's tough, I know, what with it being so unnatural to want to get laid every once in a while, but you shouldn't be made to feel depraved for it god dammit!

I'd imagine most people buying toilet roll probably shove it in their trolley, stick on the conveyor through checkout, then it's off into their car and home.
If you do your shopping on foot and walk home, toilet roll, in the larger packs which are often a better deal are so big they will never go in a shopping bag. So you then have to walk down the street with all your shopping, clutching a big load of toilet roll under your arm... "Yup, that's right... I've got a big number 2 to do... lots of them!."
Sure everyone does them, but I think it's the remainder that it's the only reason you would be carrying it, so it makes you think of it. Much in the same way that tampons make most of us men uncomfortable because it reminds us of what their purpose is for.
