Do you leave you pc on 24/7?

I leave mine on all the time now that it's getting a bit colder, during the summer I usually put it to sleep.

I leave my current system on hibernate when I'm not using it. I think after an hour of being idle it switches to standby the after that it will hibernate shutting everything down but leaving where i left off stored in the RAM.

yeah, after all, since it has to consume electicity, you might as well let it help with the central heating

My HTPC is on 24/7, until this weekend my main machine was on 24/7 because it was the music and download server. After this weekend the HTPC becomes the music and download server as well so main machine can get switched off when I'm not using it.

I just sleep mine at night. I shut it down for the night when there are some updates or something that needs a reboot.

leave mine on most of the time, if it isn't downloading when i go to work i may put it to sleep.

PC off at night, to loud to sleep through, and wasting energy.

Never turn the Macbook off though due to the instant restore from sleep and low battery consumption.

I use mine for about 10 to15hrs a day, if l go out its set to use hibernate, restarts in no time at all, very handy...

Switch off - it boots from SSD so not exactly a long wait to boot up.

due to now having family and lack of money for last few years its only turned on when needed. to try and save electric.

BUT i have been through 4 psus in the last few years when it was always running bits never blew

I turn mine off as its a Skulltrail and just sucks electricity so easier to wait for a bit in the morning for it to start up again.

Using SABnzbd+, sure there are other downloaders out there which do the same thing with a different source.

I always turn my PC off when not in use, I see no point in leaving it on if I'm not using it. I do find it strange that peeps here leave there rig running when they don't use it? :confused:

If you live your pc on, lets say...It is your electricity you're waisting...But if you leave your car running on the drive way, well, you may make some thief very happy indeed
