Do you like living in Britain?

Quite like living in the north east, even with jobs being few and far between up here I find the people much friendlier than down south and like the sense of humour.

Yes and no. Love Britain, don't love the lack of land, which also leads to the rules.

Would love to move to America/Australia or Canada. Where there's far more land and hence it's dirt cheap and could have a simpler less rat race life.

I just want to build a house on a massive plot and be more or less self sufficient with a job to bring in fun money and as such once certain things are paid for like the land and energy systems, could work far less.
In the Uk that would probably take 4 decades and by then I would be dead.

Pretty much this. Although not sure I'd pick America/Australia/Canada, not sure where, but the principle is there.

Having lived/worked in Aus and USA for a month at a time, its always nice to come home as its exactly that, "home". If i was coming here from another country, I imagine it wouldnt be that great.

Theres a few things i miss about living in Britain, living in New Hampshire its pretty rural here, theres not much in the way of public transport. Taxi's are rare and expensive. Health care is expensive, even with employee benefits.
On the plus side where i live now, its very safe, not much crime to speak of, you can get a nice house with about 1-2 acres fairly cheaply. Theres lots of outdoor activities, wild life etc.

Every country has its ups and downs you've just got to decide whats best for you and your family.

I honestly like Britain.

Though I'd love to live in America, not for the way of life, but because of just how big it is, and all the varied places to visit, just so much to see!

Yes, I do like living in Great Britian.

I have visited and worked contracts in America; as with anywhere else, there are very many incredibly nice people and there are many beautiful, unspoilt parts of America. However, many Americans have an even more selfish outlook than the British. New York and Los Angeles are my idea of hell on earth.

I could probably live in France (great skiing) or Spain but I suspect that I would still miss Great Britian :)

Good point about healthcare. The NHS gets a lot of stick in this country, largely undeservedly. Myself and countless others I know wouldn't be here today without the NHS. Obviously the media highlights the failings, but I still think it is one of the better things about this country.

Would like to move to Canada or Aus. Country going to **** and being overran with foreigners.

Oh the irony of wanting to move to another country because your own is 'overran with foreigners' :D

You'd love Sydney - in 4 days I was not served in a shop/restuarant by a single Australian.

What was that about the grass always being greener again...?

Too right. It was a surreal experience getting emergency healthcare at 3AM in the US and being asked for a credit card

I love living here. I've lived in a few other countries for a year or more including Thailand and Australia. I'd take the UK over all of them....I came close to staying in Thailand and I did like Australia and also nearly decided to apply for my PR, but the UK just does it for me. Whether or not that changes in the future who knows.

I've lived in and around London for most of my life so stepping down from that isnt easy.
Lived in Denmark for 6 months in a small backwater town and while nice was pretty boring.
Did my fair share or working abroad and having 2 weeks here and there on Expenses in a hotel and never found a country that i would consider home other than the UK/London.
Never been to NY but i think that might do.

This is very true. I have a friend that lives in California and he lives in a big gated community. They have a few outside pools that are completely deserted for most of the year and then just used for a few weeks in summer.

Personally, i'd love to live in northern California as its stunningly beautiful. Or Canada. Somewhere that is unspoilt and not full of houses and roads. That's one thing I don't like about this country, how over crowded and small it is.

There is nothing wrong with living here...But i don't like it myself as said already i would happily go elsewhere if it was possible.

The problem is other people, we have a never ending supply of idiots in this country.
