I'm just filling in some bits and pieces for the paperwork for a job. I have to fill in a medical form and it asks me if:

"I take achohol? If yes, how much per week?"

Is this just asking me if I drink? Like normal pub drinking? It is the way they have worded it that confuses me - is there a way to "take" it as opposed to just drinking, ie, as part of some sort of medical condition?

If it's a medical form, be aware that the medical definition of binge drinking is fairly low so make sure you don't go anywhere near it.

Take it where?

It is just a pretentious, posh word for drinkin'. I don't think a bottle of Vodka for breakfast would be looked upon too badly. :p

quite a common question in Scotland is ''will/do you take a drink?''
Don't forget that half a pint is one unit of alcohol, so check what the recommended weekly limit is and lie on the form :)

.....lie on the form :)

This is the crucial thing. When it comes to admitting how much you booze, lie. You will half what you drink and they will automatically double it so I suggest admitting to only 1/3 what you actually drink, sorry, take. :D

So how much do people 'take' a week then? Going off a pint being 2 units, I drink about 16-20 units a week(Normally all of those on one day as well), although many weeks I go without drinking at all.

That'd be classed as heavy binging. I find the definition a little bit silly.

I drink every one or two weeks (But sometimes up to four times per week) and normally have about the same, 8 or more units. I'm a teenager so I don't see the point in just drinking a little yet, if I drink I might as well get hammered.

I dont know how true this is but I have heard of people that inject vodka into themselves...

There's always through the eye aswell, but believe me this isn't a good idea.

It kinda blinds you for a while :o

Yeah, I know I binge drink by deffinition. I normally go for weeks without drinking, then sometimes I feel the desire to get wasted, only to wake up the following morning, regreting it.

Of course you regret it! If I remembered or didn't regret something after a night out I'd feel hard done by.

Oh yeah you cant binge without the whole morning after experience. The dead rat in your mouth fuzzy feeling, the strange churnings and emanations from your bowls from that evil kebab....
