Do your parents ever get drunk?

Often see my mum drunk. Often used to see my dad stagger in too (sadly he dies many years ago). The funniest thing with him was that he actually had an alergy to alcohol and couldn't stop sneezing when drunk :)

Yes particularly when they are socialising with their best friends or the next door neighbours. My Mum once asked my brother to close the patio doors because she was getting cold which would have been acceptable had she not been sat in the garden :D

Brilliant! I'm actually laughing out loud.

both my parents were heavy drinkers, i dont think i ever seen dad sober for more than 20mins (time to get first drink in)

they both passed a few years back, my dad was 52, my mum was 54

i personaly like a drink on special occasions, but generaly i dont really drink

both my parents died of drink related illness :(

i am from glasgow myself, and both my parents seem normal drinkers to me, compared to everyone else

My mum can drink anyone under the table. I have VERY rarely seen her drunk (in fact, I think only once, ever) and she is NEVER hung over.

Her parents are Polish, it's in her genes :D

My dad does get sloshed quite a lot, yes. Remember him one time sitting on the patio (which is raised up from the garden, up 3 steps) and insisting he could balance himself on a broken garden chair (which only had 3 legs). So he sat in the chair, unsurprisingly lost his balance, fell backwards off the patio into the flowerbed and had his ass stuck in the chair so he couldn't get up again :D.

After last night I won't be getting drunk in a long time, spwed for 8 hours this morning. Everytime I was been sick I was drunk again :/ was horrible! Worst 8 hours of my life.

Yes parents drink but in moderation now, learnt not too go overboard.

I drink with my Dad regularly. My Mum does not drink so much (they are divorced) but I did share a bottle of vodka with her last year, though as she is Scandinavian, this is perfectly normal. :D

my dad did, last time he got legless on hols an ended up giving chubby brown a gobfull ( he doesn't like swearing in f ront of ladies ) it was so funny my sis got it on video :)

I havent seen my parents sozzled in the 34 years I have been alive.
The only occasion I can remember when I think Dad may have had a few too many was when he came in from a work's do when I was in my teens. He sat in the lounge in the dark for an hour before we even realised he was home.
I've never been a big drinker myself, most evenings in my student days was a steady diet of 8 pints a night granted, but nowadays I'm t-total.

They're not as close to friends as they used to be so it's only at work parties and such now. And since we're here: I typically can't stand people when they're drunk...

They drink an average amount each week and seem to not get phased but maybe once a month go out and come in drunk. They are both pretty funny drunks rather than aggresive.

I got educated on 80s music,Bowie and Blondie one night when all I did was go down to the fridge for a can of beer :(

When I was younger I could hear my dad coming up the street singing celtic songs...glad he calmed that down to honest.

Dad yes, one of these old men types who sits at the end of the bar on a lunch time has a few, goes home for a nap then goes back out for a few more on a night time.

Mum, occasionally has a glass of wine with dinner but nothing more than that.

Never really known my dad to get drunk, a bit tipsy on occasion but never properly drunk. He does like a drink especially with food but never to excess.

Probably ought to ease up on our drinking a bit; the wife and I are not what I would term alcoholics but more 'habitual' drinkers, as more often than not we'll drink a bottle of wine or a couple of ciders with our evening meal. Expensive, unhealthy but doesn't really give much of a high (although wine does tend to make my wife more amourous!). This is a contrast to my 20s where I was very much a 'binge drinker' (say 5-6 times a month, but always at least two pints and often 6 or more) which was probably a similar intake overall but gave bigger highs.
