Does anyone have an OLDER main PC?

I think it's fair to say you will be pleasantly suprised. Especially if you are using an older version of windows and change it to windows 7 with the new build.

I can beat that! I own a pentium 3 "katami" 600mhz, 128mb memory and 10gb ide hdd.

And to the i5 2500k, it will offer you all the power of the universe, but i doubt you will really need the power to play Rome:TW... I would go budget and get the AMD Phenom 955BE, overclock it if you want too (it goes up to 4ghz), 4gb 1600mhz ram and a decent GTX550Ti graphics card.

Uhm, I use my tablet a lot for what most people use their main pcs for - Browsing web/presentations/documents/emails etc...

But that has an A5 Dual core chip :(

Gaming spec PC is i5 with 480 xD

I do have a similar PC to yours lying around somewhere. Even my 'secondary' pc atm is a E8600 with a 4870...

But hell yes you'll notice a difference.

New Pc, you could get i5 a decent GPU, large HDD - or considering your presumably small technological footprint you could probably get like a 128 SSD and cope...

Also, who wants to play Rome:TW when you can play TW:Shogun 2 on max :) With DX11 :D

(check out High res screen shot thread in PC games for examples :p)

Ooooh yeah

The 488GB was given to me by a friend of mine, it originally only came with the 195GB.
I believe it was purchased around 2004? We still run it in the living room as the computer everyone uses.
I might even upgrade it with a 4650 or something one day, and another gig of ram :p

I was running an A64 s939 4000 on an Asus a8n sli 32 deluxe board until a month ago. The memory died so i bought an i7 930, another x58 board and 6gb of ram and stuck it in the case. Saving for a new gpu to go in it, possibly a gtx 570 to replace an 8800GT. The core parts of the backup machine are more modern/newer than my main rig in sig.

Not as a main PC, but I have a P4-3.4Ghz PC I use occasionally (2GB RAM, 120GB HDD, 7600GS AGP GFX).

I also have a P233Mhz MMX Laptop :p

LOL! One of the first laptops out for commercial use if I have my history correct here! That thing was like a slab of concrete and had the weight of one too!
