League > Union, as any Australian will tell you. :) Union is just too slow and boring IMO, with weird rules and a rubbish points scoring system. The only thing Union does better than League now is scrums, it's a little embarrassing that a League scrum is still called as such.

Australians just cheat, can't help themselves, decended from crims and all that.

Union is highly technical, where all aspects of the game need to be mastered - possession, territory, speed, power, scrums, line outs, place and line kicking, defence patterns, attack patterns, mauling and rucking.

League is dull, dull, dull and seems to comprise running at the player in front of you, get tackled, wriggle on the floor until your bumpal gets off you, do that five times and kick the ball away so the others can do the same to you. Yawn. ;)

Better that than, touching the ball, not seeing it for 5 minutes, and see it getting hoofed from one end of the pitch to the other 30 times a game :D :D

The Pyramid structure is in place so:
National Three South
South West Leagues
Western/Southern Counties
[County] Premier (eg Gloucester Premier)
[County] 1
[County] 2

Complete Division List on RFU

There are 2nd and 3rd fifteen merit tables in operation in the Bristol area which are usually still referred to as 'the combination.'

Hope that helps.

League is rubbish, union is far, far better.

There's no proper international game in legaue (don't say Super Monkey Team Force Great Britain counts, tri nations is poor).

And also when ever the bulls play 50/50 with the union lads who always wins :D the ''northen wonder kids''

Be fair there is some merit in League.

It makes a nice change to leave the top hat in the dressing room and knock some working class oiks over for a bit in the summer. :p ;)

In all seriousness I've played both and there's no doubt league is the harder game physically whereas union puts more emphasis on the top six inches.
As I'm slow and unfit I prefer the game that lets me 'think my way around the pitch'. :o

As a sports fan who likes both codes (played Union at school) I always think that League is the better game at club level but Union is the king when it comes to the International game. Union is also a more varied game. For those reasons, from an armchair sports fan point of view, Union is the superior sport.
