Does anyone still use an alarm clock?

Have a roughly 10 year old radio alarm clock with 2 alarms.

Tip: Set alarm loud and annoying, move it as far from bed as possible where it will definitely wake you :D

If I don't actually leave the comfort of covers to turn it off and have to put feet to floor and walk (if I can crawl over the bed its a nono) i'm back asleep.

I generally use my phone, and then just abuse the sleep timer for 15 mins.

I've found that snoozing really doesn't help me, but I still do it. . .

Would be real nice to wake up to the radio, and then have some guy saying,
"Good morning, it's 8am, the weather's fine. . . It's gonna be a good day", and then some really motivating music comes on. You know movie-style stuff lol.

By that I mean an actual alarm clock, not a mobile phone.

Usually I'll just use my mobile as an alarm clock but I keep forgetting to put it in my bedroom so I've decided to get a proper alarm clock.

Any recommendations? Nothing that requires batteries (unless it's like a mobile phone battery and can be recharged from the mains).

A simple alarm clocks batteries would last for years and years from past experience and don't run the risk of resetting from power outages.

I have a good little radio-set alarm clock, which makes a horrible, loud sound when it thinks it's time for me to get up. However, over the years it has lost its effectiveness, and I often sleep through the first 20 mins of beeping. I think it's an 'oregon scientific' one.

I have a radio alarm clock and the reception is rubbish, which is actually great because loud badly tuned radio is a great motivator to get out of bed and turn it off.

(I always have alarm clocks on the other side of the room, next to me in bed just end up mysteriously getting turned off)

I need to start using that again.

Also finding the willpower in the morning when my body is possessed by the part of me that loves sleeping and dreaming.

If im having a good dream, i almost always go back to sleep for a little bit.

Used sleepcycle last night.

Had no problem with getting up in the morning.

This thread might have helped my sleeping pattern!
